61 year old German woman has been found dead inside her bar which she ran in an Alicante urbanisation.
It happened in Urbanisation Pinar de Campoverde in Pilar de la Horadada, and the Guardia Civil report that the door to her business was open when the body was found behind the bar by the cleaner on Wednesday morning.
They report that she suffered several deep blows to the head which had crushed her skull.
The woman had been in Spain running the business for just two years.
The Guardia are asking for witnesses, but doubt that anyone will come forward given the torrential storm in the area on Tuesday night. All lines of investigation remain open, although robbery seems a possible motive for the attack.
An autopsy is to be carried out in the Alicante Anatomic and Forensic Science Institute on Thursday.
