Warning shot hits colleague

local police officer was in hospital on Thursday with a bullet wound to the knee after an incident when he was out on patrol with a colleague early that morning. Diario Sur said he was wounded when a suspicious vehicle failed to observe an order to stop, warning shots from his colleague fired into the air ricocheted and hit the officer in the knee.
It later came to light that the suspect had only been released from custody the previous afternoon following his arrest for an unspecified crime on Tuesday night.
The paper said the suspect was re-arrested in Málaga City later on Thursday morning, after a second incident when he drove at two other officers who spotted him loading up his car with hams stolen from a supermarket on the Carretera de Cártama. Their injuries were reported as minor.
