Associates of murdered Gerard ‘Hatchet’ Kavanagh were last night hunting the wife of a man accused of ordering the hit. Kavanagh was in Harmon’s Irish bar on the Costa del Sol for just one minute on Saturday when two masked hitmen “dressed like ninjas” burst in and pumped nine bullets into his back and head. The 44-year-old, whose son is a top-ranked professional boxer, was an enforcer for ‘Dapper Don’ Christy Kinahan and close associates have already vowed revenge for the ruthless hit. The Irish Mirror has learned that Kavanagh’s close pal searched a number of Dublin bars over the weekend for the wife of a man suspected of ordering the shooting. This gangster’s moll has been warned repeatedly by gardai that her life is in danger and her home has been attacked.
