Spanish prisoner escapes prison for the second time in two months: "On both occasions, an accomplice faxed a forged court order for his releaseJosé Carlos Serna - EFE archive
An urgent investigation has been opened by the High Court in Madrid into how an inmate recently managed to escape prison for the second time in two months using a forged court order for his release.
The General Council for Judicial Power, the body which oversees the judiciary in Spain, has opened its own investigation.
José Carlos Serna Sánchez was released from the Estremera prison on December 30 on the back of a fax, supposedly from the provincial court in Madrid, sent to the local court in Arganda del Rey which is responsible for matters relating to the prison."
