More than 1.5 tons of cannabis seized in Almería

More than 1.5 tons of cannabis seized in Almería: "Ideal newspaper has revealed details of a Civil Guard operation last Friday which resulted in a haul of more than 1.5 tons of cannabis and the arrest of two people.

It happened last Friday when a boat which had been anchored off the Almería coast for more than an hour was seen approaching another vessel and then transferring its cargo on to the other boat. The second boat, with the merchandise now on board, then approached the coast and unloaded the packages into a waiting van.

Officers found 50 packages of cannabis inside the van when it was intercepted while attempting to leave the area. The total weight of the drugs was 1,632 kilos.

The van driver and the man who had brought the boat onto shore were both taken into custody."
