Cocaine in the bananas in Algeciras: "National Police have recovered 645 kilos of cocaine and arrested eight people in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cádiz and in Barcelona.
The drugs arrived in Algeciras hidden in a shipment of bananas.
A statement from the National Police said that they discovered the operation last November and that Algeciras port had been used for previous shipments to a company based in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
The drugs were found when controls on the contents of containers arrived at the port were stepped up. The eight people arrested are said to be the organisers of the shipments, and are based in Cádiz and Barcelona."
