homeless man who was attacked with an axe in Fuengirola in the early hours of Monday regained consciousness on Tuesday and is now understood to be off assisted respiration. His condition is however still serious and he remains in the Intensive Care unit of the Carlos Haya Hospital in Málaga.The 53 year old, who it’s understood is well known locally, was found with an axe wound to his head on Calle Palangreros shortly after 4am on Monday. Police are investigating any possible connection with a similar, fatal, attack on another homeless man in Fuengirola last month, whose body was found in a local car park with an axe buried in his head.
